Conceptual design for Urushi Koubou Settsu, a Japanese laquer workshop from the Akita prefecture in Japan. Dish series featuring a bowl, a low dish and sake set. The extended lip creates an iconic shape for the product family and also widens the visible surface of the silver urushi, a unique technique mastered by Mr. Settsu. Function wise the lip can be used as a grip on the bowl an the low dish or to give a nice backdrop to the food presentation.
